Psychosocial and Spiritual Care

- Psychosocial and spiritual care is another important component of palliative care that addresses the emotional, social, and existential needs of the patients and their families.

- Psychosocial and spiritual care helps to cope with the stressors, challenges, and losses associated with serious or terminal illnesses, such as fear, anger, guilt, sadness, loneliness, isolation, hopelessness, helplessness, regret, unresolved conflicts, loss of meaning or purpose, and loss of faith or identity.

- Psychosocial and spiritual care interventions include providing:

  • emotional support
